For the past four years, I have served as a leader in the Big Apple Region of BBYO, culminating in my role as Regional Godol (President) and (Kohen Godol) Board Advisor. My mission has been to foster mental health awareness and build a supportive, welcoming community for Jewish teens across New York City
The Big Apple Region (BAR) acts as the central hub for Jewish teens across Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and Long Island. It is a thriving network where youth come together to build friendships, explore their identity, and advocate for their community in a supportive environment.

I’ve helped expand the membership to over 200 teens, ensuring our organization reaches Jewish youth across our entire region, which spans Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and Long Island.
I’ve helped plan and execute complex conventions that drew attendance ranging from 500 to 5,000 teens. This involved significant project management, from coordinating logistics with multiple outside organizations to managing all social media promotion.
I helped create a safe, welcoming culture, for example I designed programs for male youth that encouraged openness and challenged harmful stereotypes. My goal was to provide a supportive space for connection and growth, which received positive feedback from participants and reinforced the value of empathy and accountability in leadership.
I’ve helped organize and lead fundraising efforts that raised over $15,000 for the Big Apple Region. These funds were directly channeled into youth scholarships, regional cultural events, and high-impact community programs.
I’ve helped cultivate lasting partnerships with various community institutions. This collaboration was essential, resulting in greater regional funding, securing necessary event space, and significantly boosting the quality and enjoyment of programs for our teens.
I’ve helped cultivate the next generation of leaders by working one-on-one with younger members. My goal has been to help them build confidence and communication skills so they can eventually take the reins.
